Myth vs Fact

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 4:141 Those (hyprocrites) who wait and watch about you; if you gain a victory from Allâh, they say: “Were we not with you,” but if the disbelievers gain a success, they say (to them): “Did we not gain mastery over you and did we not protect you from the believers?” Allâh will judge between you (all) on the Day of Resurrection. And never will Allâh grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers

Myth vs Fact

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 4:104 And don’t be weak in the pursuit of the enemy; if you are suffering (hardships) then surely, they (too) are suffering (hardships) as you are suffering, but you have a hope from Allâh (for the reward, i.e. Paradise) that for which they hope not, and Allâh is Ever AllKnowing, AllWise.

Myth vs Fact

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 4:102 When you (O Messenger Muhammad) are among them, and lead them in As-Salât (the prayer), let one party of them stand up [in Salât (prayer)] with you taking their arms with them; when they finish their prostrations, let them take their positions in the rear and let the other party come up which has not yet prayed, and let them pray with you taking all the precautions and bearing arms. Those who disbelieve wish, if you were negligent of your arms and your baggage, to attack you in a single rush, but there is no sin on you if you put away your arms because of the inconvenience of rain or because you are ill, but take every precaution for yourselves. Verily, Allâh has prepared a humiliating torment for the disbelievers.

Hate Crime Legislation

This email reminded me to remind you to sign the petition if you have not yet done so. If they can stop preachers from reading Leviticus, they can stop us from quoting the Qur’an & Hadith to denounce Islam. Please don’t let that happen!!

I am so thankful that you have signed our crucial petition
on this issue. We are just a few thousand shy of 50,000
petitions and I want to deliver these to both Sen. Reid
and Speaker Pelosi as soon as we reach that number.

Please forward this message to your friends with a personal
note from you urging them to sign as well:

You must see the responses Ali Goma drew with his al-takeyya. Some of these are priceless.

Ali Gomaa, Grand Mufti of Egypt, uttered & published al-takeyya:

The Meaning of Jihad in Islam

I selected one misrepresentation to tackle. Here is what I posted:

Aggression is forbidden in Islam? Did someone forget to tell Allah?

8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.

9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

If those ayat are not fight until loops, what are they? Do they not specify[8:38] pagans and Jews & Christians to be fought? Do they not set specific terminal conditions?

Why then did Muhammad say: “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” [Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387]

Why then did Muhammad tell the local Jews “Embrace Islam and you will be safe”?[Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 392] What did he subsequently do to those Jewish settlements? [Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 512, Abu Dawud Book 38, Number 4390]{Numbers refer to texts on line at USC-MSA, use your favorite search engine to find them.}

Idealistic Dreaming

Losing My Jihadism

I evolved. So can Islam.

By Mansour al-Nogaidan

[Since I was unable to find a way to add my comments at the Post, I am sharing them with you in this blog.]

The above cited article appeared in the Washington Post. It appears to be related to On Faith: Muslims Speak Out.

Mansour al-Nogaidan relates how he evolved from Salafi to peace loving, tolerant moderate. Implicitly recognizing that Allah’s word does not change, al-Nogaidan wants to re-interpret it. Of course he overlooks the fact that Muhammad exemplified its true interpretation.

I am aware of only one hook on which to hang a faint hope.

22:52. Never did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you, but; when he did recite the revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitân (Satan) threw (some falsehood) in it. But Allâh abolishes that which Shaitân (Satan) throws in. Then Allâh establishes His Revelations. And Allâh is All-Knower, All-Wise:

If al-Nogaidan can successfully attribute the bulk of Surahs 2 & 4 and all of 8, 9 & 48 and sundry violent ayat along with them to Satanic interference, and convince the Ulema of the accuracy of that attribution, then there may be some hope.

It appears that al-Nogaidan was writing in good faith. Use the link above to read his words for yourself.  Then click on the On Faith link and witness the spewing malicious malarkey. Note: comments are enabled there. I let Tony Blair have a piece of my mind.

Myth vs Fact

Myth Fact
Islam: Religion of peace. 4:100 He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allâh, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live byAnd whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allâh and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allâh. And Allâh is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful.
