Hate Crime Legislation

I selected one misrepresentation to tackle. Here is what I posted:

Aggression is forbidden in Islam? Did someone forget to tell Allah?

8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.

9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

If those ayat are not fight until loops, what are they? Do they not specify[8:38] pagans and Jews & Christians to be fought? Do they not set specific terminal conditions?

Why then did Muhammad say: “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” [Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387]

Why then did Muhammad tell the local Jews “Embrace Islam and you will be safe”?[Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 392] What did he subsequently do to those Jewish settlements? The above cited article appeared in the Washington Post. It appears to be related to On Faith: Muslims Speak Out.

Mansour al-Nogaidan relates how he evolved from Salafi to peace loving, tolerant moderate. Implicitly recognizing that Allah’s word does not change, al-Nogaidan wants to re-interpret it. Of course he overlooks the fact that Muhammad exemplified its true interpretation.

I am aware of only one hook on which to hang a faint hope.

22:52. Never did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you, but; when he did recite the revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitân (Satan) threw (some falsehood) in it. But Allâh abolishes that which Shaitân (Satan) throws in. Then Allâh establishes His Revelations. And Allâh is All-Knower, All-Wise:

If al-Nogaidan can successfully attribute the bulk of Surahs 2 & 4 and all of 8, 9 & 48 and sundry violent ayat along with them to Satanic interference, and convince the Ulema of the accuracy of that attribution, then there may be some hope.
