Freedom Ain’t Free & Take Our Country Back

VICTORY Is Not Defeat

Questions for Fred Thompson

The following quote was found at

  • A key adviser said the two biggest issues motivating Thompson are “Islamic radicalism and the threat of terrorism reaching our shores,” and a sense that “politics has broken down in the domestic arena, too.”

One phrase in that quote bothers me: Islamic radicalismAre you merely careless with the language or  ignorant of Islam? The term implies that Islamic terrorism is a deviation from the orthodox standard of Islam. Nothing could be further from the truth.  Here is the standard of Islam; what Allah & Muhammad said and did:

  1. 3:151 We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allâh, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).[The Prohibition of Obeying the Disbelievers; the Cause of Defeat at Uhud]
  2. 8:12 (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, “Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes.“[Allah commands the Angels to fight and support the Believers]
  3. 33:26-27 And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives. And He caused you to inherit their lands, and their houses, and their riches, and a land which you had not trodden (before). And Allâh is Able to do all things. [Allah drove back the Confederates disappointed and lost] [The Campaign against Banu Qurayzah]
  4. Bukhari Volume 1, Book 7, Number 331:
    Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah:
The Prophet said, “I have been given five things which were not given to any one else before me.
    1. Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month’s journey.
    2. The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
    3. The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
    4. I have been given the right of intercession (on the Day of Resurrection).
    5. Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.
  5. Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:    Narrated Abu Huraira:    Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand.” …

There you have Allah’s words, from the Hilali & Khan translation of the Qur’an. I have hyperlinked the Surah:Ayat numbers to the source for easy verification and access to the entire document.  Bracketed references are to Ibn Kathir’s Tafsir, which explains the meaning of the ayat.  Muhammad’s words come from Khan’s translation of Sahih Bukhari, the most accepted & trusted hadith collection.

  1. Do you understand this: “We shall cast terror”…”I will cast terror”…”Allah cast terror”…”Allah made me victorious by awe”…I have been made victorious by terror” ?
  2. Then has Islam been hijacked, distorted or perverted as President Bush claims?
  3. Then is not terrorism an intrinsic sacrament of Islam?
  4. Then will you abjure the use of distracting & deceptive adjectives when discussing Islam?

Those are the minimum requirements for receiving my vote, both in the primary and the general election. Those who fail the fourth test will not get my vote.

Fred Fest

Welcome to Fred-Fest ‘08

The Candidate both sides Love to Hate!

Written by JB Williams

For a well-known and previously well-liked southern gentlemen and respected former U.S. senator, who is not yet officially in the race for the White House, Fred Thompson sure is drawing a lot of unfriendly fire from both sides of the political aisle. Clearly the man both sides see a need to derail is Fred Thompson, which must mean, he is seen as the man to beat in ’08, at least in the minds of the other candidates.
An old friend once told me, when you stand with your head above the crowd, you had better be ready to catch all the rotten tomatoes. Fred’s not only a head above the crowd physically, but it seems idealistically too. And here come those tomatoes…

Let me see if I can remember all the reasons why we’re not supposed to support Fred Thompson for president… according to politicos across the political spectrum.

  • He’s too old (64)
  • He has cancer
  • He lacks political experience, or, he’s a Washington insider
  • He’s been both bachelor and family man, twice
  • He’s too conservative, or, not conservative enough
  • He likes pretty women, though not the same way Bill Clinton does
  • He’s too tough on abortion, but not tough enough for some
  • He’s a national security hawk, or, maybe a globalist dove
  • He’s a political nobody, or, a respected member of the Council on Foreign Relations
  • He was a Washington lobbyist, though by all accounts, an underpaid one
  • He’s just a TV prosecutor, or, a real prosecutor who often plays himself on TV
  • He was a Watergate Nixon insider, or, he was a leading Watergate prosecutor
  • Nixon thought he was a dunce, until the dunce forced Nixon to resign the Oval Office

Political pundits and campaign war rooms have carefully investigated Thompson and so far, this is what they have come up with as their reasons for which Thompson shouldn’t be the next president. Of course, politicos see all things in stark contrast, left-wing versus right-wing only. Left-wing pundits say he’s too far right and of course, right-wing pundits say he’s too far left.

What pundits tend to forget is that more than 80 percent of Americans are neither right-wing nor left-wing. These extreme partisan positions are reserved for political pundits and the politicians they aim to promote, or assassinate, as the case may be.

But most Americans see both politicians and their paid pundits as useless wing-nuts, – which explains why both the Republican White House and the Democrat congress are equally unpopular among average Americans today. Both are no more than just right-wing and left-wing political junkies, busy double-talking and back-stabbing on behalf of themselves, not the American people.

In this way, the above list is more than just a list of reasons not to support Thompson. It might be the list of reason why so many Americans are supporting Thompson, on both sides of the political aisle.

Although Thompson has been drafted into the ’08 race by the disenchanted (read disenfranchised) conservative base of the Republican Party, strong signs are emerging that many Democrat voters are now favoring Thompson as well. That’s why Howard Dean himself is worried enough about Thompson to be personally engaged in his political assassination before he even tosses his hat in the ring.

For the first time since Reagan, a president might be elected by both Republicans and Democrats. People finally fed up with partisan bickering, who are in search of an American president, not just a Republican or Democrat committee mouthpiece, appear to be more than slightly intrigued by Thompson.

Partisan committee elite types don’t get that most Republicans are right of social liberal Rudy Giuliani, but left of isolationist libertarian Ron Paul. Likewise, most Democrats are somewhere right of pure socialist Hillary Clinton, but left of – say – Democrat hawk Zell Miller.

This explains the temporary fascination with Barack Obama, who is trying to walk a tightrope down the center of his party. His blank résumé is making it tough for Hillary to attack because he hasn’t been around long enough to complete more than the ID section of that résumé. Look for Al Gore to re-emerge once voters figure out that there’s nothing in that fancy Gucci suit from Illinois.

Bottom line – true right-wingers and hardened left-wingers are equally disturbed by current campaign developments. That would be the 20 percent of America that lives, eats, sleeps and breathes politics, 10% hardcore leftists who want to dictate a socialist policy to the DNC and 10% extreme right-wingers who want to dictate an isolationist policy to the RNC.

As for the rest of America, the 80 percent of voters who are fed up with both partisan back-stabbing extremes that leaves their American agenda trapped between two constantly warring political factions, they’re in search of someone to lead the nation towards an American agenda, not just a partisan agenda that keeps the country stuck in neutral in a perpetual power struggle.

Thompson, a plain spoken decent man who has made a living in the private sector through various respected professions, a man who has known success and failure – victory and disappointment – love and loss – how to be alone and how to run a family, might be just the ticket for Americans who can relate more to him than any career politician currently stinking up Washington DC.

For a change, the pundits might have it right, once you put all of their assertions together in one place.

Thompson appears neither too left nor too right, neither left-wing nor right-wing, but somewhere in between, depending upon which issue you care to consider. He appears to be just like most Americans, more certain about his love and respect for true American values and principles than any party power agenda.

I say appears because he has yet to announce or present his official platform. While the pundits are busy pretending to know “what Fred would do” for the benefit of their chosen candidates, the fact is that only Fred knows what Fred intends to do as president at this moment and until he announces and presents his platform, it will remain that way.

Since he continues to climb in the polls without running, it might be a while before he decides to announce. So far, letting the others defeat themselves seems a pretty good strategy from where I sit. A pretty cost efficient strategy too…wholly un-Washington like, which is another reason the pundits don’t like him much. He’s a bit of a wild card in their eyes…

If my tea leaves are correct, the very things that upset the Washington elite seem to excite the average American voter. Hell – Fred might win as a write-in at this point.

Democrats and Republicans seem to agree on one thing right now, – those pure partisan extremists who have been in Washington for eight years or more need to find a new career and make room for anyone willing to represent all Americans for a change.

We’ve sure tried it the pure partisan way and none of us like how that turned out. Any candidate that speaks to the 80% who are neither left nor right wing extremists is likely to be tough to beat in ’08. Not being a career politician will help too.

Like him or not, Fred is just Fred. Fred is as American as apple pie and Chevrolet. The American people will have to elect such a man. And the Washington elite never will approve…especially the politicos at either extreme.

Which Fred Is Running?

From JB Williams, via email:

Which Fred is Running for President?
Written by JB Williams

I probably know more about Fred Thompson than any other candidate, which is why I worked with my reader base to help draft Fred into the ’08 Presidential race. But that doesn’t mean that an honest concerned American doesn’t need to ask the right questions before climbing fully onboard any political train today.

If Jesus Christ himself were running today, we’d have to ask the same questions in light of today’s deception and corruption filled arena of national politics, especially if Jesus is now a member of CFR. So, though I’m thrilled that Fred Thompson has answered the people’s call to run, I’m still waiting to see which Fred is going to run.

Will it be the real pro-American, conservative, plain-spoken good-ole-boy from down south Fred Thompson, who knows what he thinks, says what he thinks and makes no apologies for what he thinks?

Or will it be the new and improved Fred Thompson, spit shined by the globalist oriented and liberal leaning Council on Foreign Relations? – The organization largely responsible for turning a good American conservative family into a spineless bunch of so-called “compassionate conservatives” whose greatest accomplishment might just be their destruction of the Republican Party and true American conservatism.

We’re about to find out when Fred soon formally announces his candidacy, expected to take place on or around Independence Day.

Just in case Fred is reading this morning, I’ll make my personal plea for the real Fred Thompson to stand up, the one the people drafted… the one that can not be manipulated into policy platforms that the real Fred would never support, just for political expediency.

Senator Fred Thompson stood with the conservative base of the Republican Party

* Strongly Opposed to Abortion
* Supportive of Gender & Ethnic Equality
* Strongly Opposed to Special Treatment based on Sexual Orientation
* Opposed to “hate-crime” protections based on Sexual Orientation
* Supports teaching family values in school
* Opposes any Federal Health Care System
* Supports privatizing Social Security
* Strongly supports school vouchers and parental choice
* Supports a death penalty for violent crimes
* Strongly supports Gun ownership rights
* Opposes welfare for illegal aliens
* Supports an immigrant work visa program
* Supports fair free trade
* Supports honest campaign financing and reporting
* Supports stronger intelligence, military and security spending
* Supports International Peace Keeping Coalitions
* Opposes government waste and growth
* Supports efforts to reduce and eliminate illegal drug use
* Supports allowing churches to provide community support

Recently, Thompson spoke plainly about the current illegal immigration problem… in a radio message titled Southern Exposure.

In an interview with conservative radio host Mark Levin, Thompson commented on the current Washington wrangling over the illegal immigrant vote, – “The Democrats have decided that the politicians that make it the easiest for people to come into this country are going to get their votes. And some of the Republicans are looking at that and saying, “They may just be right, and we want to get in on the action.” I think that’s driving a lot of this. You know, I don’t know the answer to that, but if you study history, you come to the conclusion that doing the right thing often times works out. We can’t predict how this is going to work or how that’s going to work, but when the rule of law is at stake, when national security is at stake, when you’re doing some things that’s unfair to good people who are standing in line waiting their turn to be good United States citizens legally, then you have to put that [politics] aside.”

At this late stage of a problem that has been allowed to exist since the closing of Ellis Island in the 50’s, anyone who claims to know exactly which silver bullet will solve the illegal immigrant problem is either an outright liar or an idiot. But starting from a very conservative pro-law enforcement position is certainly a good start.

He’s technically not yet in the race, but already leading the field for the nomination.

I predict that if Fred gets this issue right in his campaign platform, he will trounce not only all other Republican candidates in the RNC primaries, but every other candidate running for the oval office. Both conservatives and liberals are angry over the current push for amnesty in Washington. If Fred can come up with the right answer to the hottest political issue in America today, he will be all but impossible to beat in ’08. (Note to Fred – NO Amnesty!)

On the other hand, if he allows his friends over at the globally compassionate CFR to make another Bush out of him, he will find his poll numbers looking much like that of President Bush, or worse yet, that of congress.

Thompson could face the Clintons in the general election. One would hope that he would stick to his traditional candor when reminding voters of the Thompson Committee Report, which investigated real political corruption on a monumental scale.

The report called for criminal prosecution of the Clintons for their role in our nation’s most egregious campaign funding scandals. That report was deep sixed by Clinton crony Janet Reno and completely buried by the lamestream press which was blindly committed to keeping the Clintons in power, no matter their traitorous criminal activities.

I like the real Fred Thompson very much and so do all the people across this nation who worked hard to get him into the race. The fact that he’s the only candidate in the race smart enough to not really want the most thankless job in the world shows two important Thompson character traits.

1) He’s obviously no dummy… for only a dummy would want the hell that comes with running for and being President of the United States today.

2) When called to serve, despite a comfortable acting career, money in the bank, a beautiful young family and his golden years in sight, Thompson agreed to answer a call to serve once again, this time on behalf of the people who have had their fill of typical Washington nonsense, from both political parties.

If Fred can manage to emerge from his whirlwind grooming process, surrounded by literally hundreds of CFR members anxious to set his agenda, with his own soul and agenda intact, he will be a formidable candidate to be reckoned with and he may well make one of the greatest American Presidents, at a time when America very much needs just such a leader.

I’m pulling for you Fred… and so are many Americans, conservatives in particular, who feel completely unrepresented in Washington today. We’re still the American majority and we’re looking for a chance to prove it!

Represent us please, since nobody else in Washington wants to anymore…

Fred Thompson and CAIR: Update

Cross Posted from Wake up America

First off, you might notice we have done a few pieces on Fred Thompson, as well as being part of a blogroll for Fred and having a contribute button on the left sidebar.

The only way to decide whether or not to endorse him when the time comes is to listen to what he has to say, check his voting record and when the times comes, make the decision, so as I hear and watch him, I bring his words to you also because in 2008, you also will be making the decision of who to vote for.

First, lets look at what Thompson had to say about CAIR, then I am going to show you CAIR’s extensive history as well as the documented proof of his terror ties.

I’ve talked before about the Council on American-Islamic Relations — most recently because it filed that lawsuit against Americans who reported suspicious behavior by Muslims on a U.S. Airways flight. Better known just as CAIR, the lobbying group has come under a lot of scrutiny lately for its connections to terror-supporting groups. This time, though, The Washington Times has uncovered some very good news about the group.

For years, CAIR has claimed to represent millions of American Muslims. In fact, they claim to represent more Muslim in American than … there are in America. This has alarmed Americans in general as the group often seems to be more aligned with our enemies than us — which isn’t surprising as it spun off from a group funded by Hamas. As you know, Hamas has been waging a terrorist war against Israel and calls for its total destruction. It also promises to see America destroyed. Nowadays, Hamas is busy murdering its Palestinian political rivals.

Even with this history, and CAIR’s conspicuous failure to condemn Hamas by name, it has been treated as if represents Muslim Americans by our own government. The good news is that the financial support CAIR claims to have among American Muslims is a myth. We know this because The Washington Times got hold of the group’s IRS tax records.

CAIR’s dues-paying membership has shrunk 90 percent since 9/11 — from 29,000 in 2000 to only 1,700 last year. CAIR’s annual income from dues plunged from $733,000 to $59,000. Clearly, America’s Muslims are not supporting this group — and I’m happy to hear about it.

Of course, every silver lining seems to have a cloud; and this cloud is that CAIR’s spending is running about $3 million a year. They’ve opened 25 new chapters in major cities across the country even as their dues shrank to a pittance. The question is; who’s funding CAIR?

CAIR’s not saying. The New York Times earlier this year reported that the backing is from “wealthy Persian Gulf governments” including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Obviously, we have a bigger problem here than the one with CAIR.

One of the things I am beginning to appreciate about Fred Thompson is he says what needs to be said without regard to “political correctness“. Everyone is so damn scared to speak the truth if it might offend someone that too much is being left unsaid.

That is dangerous and unacceptable.

Our Previous post, written by Snooper talks a bit about the Muslim Brotherhood and Keith Ellison and I am going to expand on that a bit.

NOW, a little history abut CAIR and Kieth Ellison’s links to CAIR, previously shown to you here.

Jump forward to today now. Does everybody remember the Flying Imam incident? Where six Imams were removed from a plane for acting suspiciously, praying loudy (which is what CAIR focused on), asking for seat belt extensions and then placing them at their feet instead of using them, speaking in a manner than when translated showed complete anti-American, Pro Saddam Hussein rhetoric and placing themselves in a seating arrangement exactly like the 9/11 terrorists did before those fateful crashes.

Ellison also took part in “Community Night” with Imam Siraj Wahhaj, and Imam Dr. Omar Shahin. This was “for Imams to meet and interact with community members.” Some of the participants of this meeting became involved in the Flying Imams controversy after being removed from an Arizona bound plane for concerning behavior. Ellison became involved in this controversy shortly after it erupted when he attempted to arrange a meeting between parties including US Airways executives, the Metropolitan Airports Commission, and other legislators and community members.

Questions about Shahin surfaced in July 2005, when author and terrorism investigator Steven Emerson, author of “Jihad Incorporated: A Guide to Militant Islam in the U.S.,” mentioned him in testimony before the U.S. Senate Banking Committee investigating the financing of terrorists.

Emerson identified Shahin as a fundraiser for KindHearts, a Toledo-based Muslim charity that has been a subject of federal scrutiny for suspected links to terror-related groups in the Mideast. Emerson also noted Shahin’s work as an imam for the Islamic Center of Tucson, which, he said, “has an extensive history of terror links.”

Okay, so lets give Ellison the benefit of doubt once again and chalk his connection with Shahnin and the Nation of Islam up to coincedence or bad judgment.

Since its founding in 1994, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and its employees have combined, conspired, and agreed with third parties, including, but not limited to, the Islamic Association for Palestine (“IAP”), the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (“HLF”), the Global Relief Foundation (“GRF”), and foreign nationals hostile to the interests of the United States, to provide material support to known terrorist organizations, to advance the Hamas agenda, and to propagate radical Islam. The Council on American-Islamic Relations, and certain of its officers, directors, and employees, have acted in support of, and in furtherance of, this conspiracy.

Senior CAIR employee Randall Todd Royer, a/k/a “Ismail” Royer, pled guilty and was sentenced to twenty years in prison for participating in a network of militant jihadists centered in Northern Virginia. He admitted to aiding and abetting three persons who sought training in a terrorist camp in Pakistan for the purpose of waging jihad against American troops in Afghanistan. Royer’s illegal actions occurred while he was employed with CAIR.

CAIR’s Director of Community Relations, Bassem Khafagi , was arrested by the United States due to his ties with a terror-financing front group. Khafagi pled guilty to charges of visa and bank fraud, and agreed to be deported to Egypt. Khafagi’s illegal actions occurred while he was employed by CAIR.

On December 18, 2002, Ghassan Elashi, founding board member of CAIR-Texas, a founder of the Holy Land Foundation, and a brother-in-law of Musa Abu Marzook , was arrested by the United States and charged with, among other things, making false statements on export declarations, dealing in the property of a designated terrorist organization, conspiracy and money laundering. Ghassan Elashi committed his crimes while working at CAIR, and was found Guilty.

CAIR Board Member Imam Siraj Wahaj, an un-indicted co-conspirator in the first World Trade Center bombing, has called for replacing the American government with an Islamic caliphate, and warned that America will crumble unless it accepts Islam.

Consistent with Hamas ideology, CAIR has served as a conduit for the distribution of materials and funds from foreign nationals to groups and institutions within the United States for the purpose of promoting radical Islam and Hamas ideology, and attacked Islamic clerics and scholars who reject radical Islam and the Hamas agenda.

Siraj Wahaj and Omar Shahin were both part of that “community night” that Ellison took part in. Both also involved with the incident on the plane and all three involved with CAIR.

Yet another coincedence? OK, sure…lets call that a coincedence too, shall we?

Now we have two separate controversial events that happened after that “community night” meeting. One the flying Imams, then we have Ellison deciding to use the Koran for his swearing in, at a time when our country is at war with extremists that are using the Koran in a perverted way to justify killing innocent people.

Another coincedence? You decide.

What about Ellison’s “association” with CAIR?

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was an ardent supporter of Ellison’s 2006 campaign, a fact that caused some controversy (see below). Two days after the 2006 election, CAIR announced Ellison would be a keynote speaker at their annual banquet in Virginia less than two weeks later. According to a CAIR press release, this would be Ellison’s first major post-election address.

On November 13, 2006 the Star Tribune reported Ellison said he “would not be the keynote speaker at the annual banquet for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)”. Acknowledging that “His appearance had already been announced by CAIR…Ellison said it [the apparently mistaken announcement] was the result of a ‘natural, normal miscommunication.’” Though Ellison was not able to attend the event in person he sent a videotaped address.

Now, to be fair, Ellison’s associations with the Nation of Islam and CAIR could just be very bad judgment, his timing with his controversial decision to use the Koran at his swearing in ceremony could also be chalked up to bad judgement.

But everything together, the connection to the Imams that were removed from the plane, the CAIR invovement, the Nation of Islam involvement, the fact that two VERY controversial incidents happened after that “community night” meeting and the fact that all of the above had some form of involvement with CAIR, all together has to make one stop and say hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Ok, bad judgment at the very least.

That isn’t the only time Ellison has shown bad judgment though, nope, not at all.

We then have his campaign finance violations:

Campaign finance has also been an issue for Ellison. In early 2006, the Minnesota State Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board reprimanded Ellison for unreported contributions, discrepancies in cash balances, and misclassified disbursements. These transgressions occurred in the years 2002-2004. In 2005 when the board tried to get more information about the problems in Ellison’s reports, they got no response from Ellison or his treasurer (his wife Kim). When the board heard nothing, they opened the investigation. Ellison was subpoenaed and fined. The board has also fined Ellison numerous times for late filings, been sued twice by the attorney general, and has been warned many times for absent or incomplete disclosure. (Source)

Ellison also failed to pay all or part of his income taxes five separate years between 1992 and 2000, forcing the state and Internal Revenue Service to put liens on his home. He later paid in excess of $18,000.

This man certainly has his fair share of bad judgment doesn’t he? An awful lot of coincedences too.

There is much, much more out there, available at our fingertips, just by using the search engine. Makes one wonder why everyone is so quiet about this man…..are they scared that it may not be “politically correct” to bring up issues about this man, simply because he is a Muslim? Have we become so PC that justified questions are not asked simply because of a mans religion?

If this was a non-Muslim politician, Democrat OR Republican, would these things NOT have become major stumbling blocks to their career?

Legitimate questions all….anyone have any answers?

Anyone at all?

Didn’t think so.

In a related article today, we have a Muslim women telling us a few things that offend her, and it isn’t what you would expect so please read the whole piece, I am only showing excerpts.(Emphasis will be mine)

GROWING up in Vancouver, I attended an Islamic school every Saturday. There, I learned that Jews can’t be trusted because they worship “moolah, not Allah”, meaning money, not God. According to my teacher, every last Jew is consumed with business.

But looking around my neighbourhood, I noticed that most of the new business signs featured Asian languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Punjabi and plenty of Urdu. Not Hebrew, Urdu, which is spoken throughout Pakistan.

That reality check made me ask: What if my religious school isn’t educating me? What if it’s indoctrinating me?

I’m reminded of this question thanks to the news that Salman Rushdie, author of The Satanic Verses and 10 other works of fiction, will be knighted by the Queen.

On Monday, Pakistan’s religious affairs minister said that because Rushdie had blasphemed Islam with provocative literature, it was understandable that angry Muslims would commit suicide bombings over his knighthood.

Members of parliament, as well as the Pakistani Government, amplified the condemnation of Britain, feeding cries of offence to Muslim sensibilities from Europe to Asia.

As a Muslim, you better believe I’m offended – by these absurd reactions.

She then goes on to list things that offend her:

I’m offended that it is not the first time honours from the West have met with vitriol and violence. In 1979, Pakistani physicist Abdus Salam became the first Muslim to win the Nobel Prize in science. He began his acceptance speech with a verse from the Koran.

Salam’s country ought to have celebrated him. Instead, rioters tried to prevent him from re-entering the country. Parliament even declared him a non-Muslim because he belonged to a religious minority. His name continues to be controversial, invoked by state authorities in hushed tones.

I’m offended that every year, there are more women killed in Pakistan for allegedly violating their family’s honour than there are detainees at Guantanamo Bay.

Muslims have rightly denounced the mistreatment of Gitmo prisoners. But where’s our outrage over the murder of many more Muslims at the hands of our own?

I’m offended that in April, mullahs at an extreme mosque in Pakistan issued a fatwa against hugging.

The country’s female tourism minister had embraced – or, depending on the account you follow, accepted a congratulatory pat from – her skydiving instructor after she successfully jumped in a French fundraiser for the victims of the 2005 Pakistan earthquake. Clerics announced her act of touching another man to be “a great sin” and demanded she be fired.

I’m offended by their fatwa proclaiming that women should stay at home and remain covered at all times.

I’m offended that they’ve bullied music store owners and video vendors into closing up shop.

I’m offended that the Government tiptoes around their craziness because these clerics threaten suicide attacks if confronted.

I’m offended that on Sunday, at least 35 Muslims in Kabul were blown to bits by other Muslims and on Tuesday, 80 more in Baghdad by Islamic “insurgents”, with no official statement from Pakistan to deplore these assaults on fellow believers.

I’m offended that amid the internecine carnage, a professed atheist named Salman Rushdie tops the to-do list.

Above all, I’m offended that so many other Muslims are not offended enough to demonstrate widely against God’s self-appointed ambassadors. We complain to the world that Islam is being exploited by fundamentalists, yet when reckoning with the opportunity to resist their clamour en masse, we fall curiously silent.

In a battle between flaming fundamentalists and mute moderates, who do you think is going to win?

Read the rest… Moderate Muslims are our friends and I have shown multiple instances where Moderate Muslims have stepped up, risking their very lives, to speak out against the radical extremists that have hijacked their faith for murder and suicide bombings and killing innocent men, women and children.

More need to do so though and we cannot let “political correctness” stop us from speaking the truth for fear that we “may” offend someone.

That type of mindset is what will get us killed.

A MUST READ piece from Debbie at Right Truth called “Some turning against Israel – is the answer a healthy dose of neutron bombs?”.

Go. Read. It is well worth the time.

Why I dropped Mitt for Fred…

Posted by: Kevin McCullough at 12:13 PM

In the election cycle that has been underway this incredibly early part of 2007, I have had a chance to shake the hands and speak personally with all of the presidential candidates.

I have to say in the early going, and largely due to a few factors – his defense of marriage in Massachusetts, his stunning credentials and record of CEO success, and because of my good friend’s great book “A Mormon in the White House” by Hugh Hewitt – I was leaning strongly Romney.

Here on TownHall, Dean Barnett has challenged all of us to articulate clearly who we are supporting so that we have the most honest debate possible. He said so, and then immediately proclaimed his loyalty to fellow New Englander – Mitt Romney.

Matt Lewis has not fully endorsed John McCain but he has definitely been faithful to keep some of us more anti-McCain cranks honest about the facts of Senator Cranky.

Patrick Ruffini has openly admitted his connection to the Rudy 2008 campaign and in doing so is benefitting TownHall readership by giving us a perspective that would more than likely be absent were he not to do so.

I have never done so in a campaign cycle – certainly never this early – but I am proud to announce that today (really as of mid-day yesterday) I am an eagerly, enthusiastic, anticipatory supporter of Fred Thompson. I have leaned his direction ever since first hearing the possibility but had to tell myself that focusing on the declared candidates was the reality – everything else just speculation.

I believe Thompson will win for a variety of reasons. He understands technology, and the total scope of the blogosphere in a far more superior way to any of the rest of the candidates. But he has also not abandoned the gray hairs – of which there are far more of than ever before for an election cycle in America. He’s gone from last place to tied for first without spending any money – and behind the laid back calm gentile facade is a fierce defender of America.

So I figured – why hide it anymore. I’m a Fred-head. So yes – the Musclehead blog will have a Fred-bias to it – as the Hewitt blog has a Mitt-bias, and as the Medved blog as an Amnesty-bias. The important thing is that we are honest about the views from which we are coming from and allow you the TownHall reader to examine our rationale for itself.

So what pushed me over the edge? Well, Fred has had some bang-up speeches and television appearances. He’s written a weekly column for us here on TownHall bringing his common sense directly to us, and in doing so he’s eliminated a lot of the filters by which messages can usually get mangled. He also speaks so that everybody in the room can understand – and funny enough according to the poll numbers – they do. I do look forward to seeing Fred in the debates and when he arrives, look for him to shoo away the attacks of the others with the ease that he puffed cigar smoke into the face of Michael Moore.

But if you really have to know what pushed me from Mitt to Fred: National Right To Life 100% rating… and the rest of what he says in this video to the NRLC that met in Washington last night.

The video is here and on my VODPOD

Plain speak on life, culture, and terror… He is unequivocal – and none of the others are.

The Leftinistra WILL not be like this because they CANNOT!

Fred Thompson On Issues

Here is the video link

Here is the transcript link

“When I was in the Senate a lot of people would come to see me and it usually would have to do with business matters or financial matters or something pertaining to their financial welfare. When you came to see me, I always knew it was about something much more important than that, the most important thing of all in this World and that is life and I must say that those issues are even more profound to me as the years go by. Jeri and I have truly been blessed. Let’s talk about some of those issues for a moment. In 1994, I made my first run for the U.S. Senate. I was proud to receive the National Right to Life endorsement. I’ve been with you ever since. You’ve been with me ever since. On abortion related votes I’ve been 100 percent. We’ve had a lot of different kind of issues come up in the Senate from federal funding to stem cell research, Roe versus Wade and the partial birth abortion debate or as former Senator Pat Moynihan of New York used to say it’s more like infanticide than partial birth abortion. You know one of the proudest moments I’ve had as a private citizen was when the President asked me to help Judge John Roberts through the senate confirmation process to become a member of the Supreme Court. Well, now he is Chief Justice John Roberts, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but I think he’s going to go down as the best Chief Justice that this country has ever had.

On stem cell research, I’m for adult stem cell research not stem cell research where embryos of unborn children are destroyed. It looks to me like there is a lot of promising developments as far as adult stem cell research is concerned anyway and we don’t need to go down that other road.

Of course I am also concerned about these children after they’re born. I’m concerned about the cultural environment that they’re going to grow up in. I’m concerned about the fact that we’re bankrupting our entitlement program that’s going to saddle them with unbelievably high taxes when they’re going to try to start their families and buy that first home. I’m concerned most of all about their safety. We have an enemy in this World that would like nothing more than to kill thousands more innocent Americans; men, women, and children. I know you share those concerns, and I look forward to working together with you on them. Thank you so much for letting me be with you here for a few minutes today.”

On Fred Thompson

No. He isn’t Ronald Reagan. He is Fred Thompson. Fred Thompson is, however, Reaganesque. Fred is much more like Reagan than say, Hillary Clinton, Barak Obama, John Edwards, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and John McCain.

The Leftinistra, living in great and tremendous fear of another Reagan-like presidential contender, with yet another landslide such as Reagan’s 1984 mandate victory looming over their heads, have begun their “he’s no Reagan after all” rhetoric. Imagine that. This is what transpires when one lives, breathes and dies by the pollsters. Fred ranks #2 and it really isn’t an official-official “I’m in” card…is it? Just think where his standings will sky-rocket to when the officialness of his “I’m in” card is actually played.

The Leftinistra aren’t the only ones playing up the “he’s no Reagan” rhetoric either. That is only natural. When one is in fear of being sorely crushed by popular demand, people lash out. Lash away, I say. It will be inconsequential.

Equally as inconsequential is George F Will, writing a piece entitled “Of Tulips And Fred Thompson”, where he compares the appearance of Fred Thompson to a basset hound after having read a sad story, and said sad basset hound might not ought to be entrusted to and with the nation’s nuclear arsenal. Has George looked in the mirror lately? I swear he has a close resemblance to the cartoon character Poindexter. Remember Poindexter? Then again, George is one of those Leftinistra living in fear of another spanking as Mondale received as well as Carter. Get used to it George. A “real” conservative is coming to town and your side hasn’t a prayer.

Does George have some kind of mental deficiency that thinking either of the three DNC contenders…the leading ones…or any of the hopefuls…could be entrusted with the nation’s nuclear arsenal? I am quite sure there are doctors available that would be more than eager to help him out with that supposition.

Robert Novak was displeased with a speech given by Fred Thompson at the Lincoln Club. Fred didn’t have the oomph he wanted him to have. Oh well. Get over it. I have more respect for a man that acts like himself instead of acting like he thinks someone else thinks he should act…or orate. Fred seems to be a little Rooseveltesque…walk softly but carry a Big Stick.

Theoretically, Kudlow “hammered” Fred over the tort reforms issues. I didn’t see it that way one bit. What I saw was an ignoramus, Kudlow, doing the typical Leftinistra over-speak and interrupt distraction technique and Fred was trying to be the cordial and polite “let the other guy speak” MO. Watch the show here:

I guess Kudlow and other critics of Thompson missed this side of Fred Thompson:

As for experience and the ability to engage and debate, Fred certainly can outdo and outrun any of the three top dogs the DNC camp has to offer. Barak would melt; Edwards would be looking for a beauty shop; Hillary would get all emotional and shrill herself into a stroke just from the glare of Fred Thompson. Neither of the three DNC front-runners have the experience in politics or life lived than Fred does.

Some trolls on my other blog ask silly questions as to what accomplishments Fred has under his belt. We counter with the “what accomplishments has either of the three DNC leaders have? A newbie Barak, a has-been Edwards and a crook Hillary…OH MY! Silence.

I’m telling you all…the Leftinistra are deathly afraid of this man.

No one candidate is going to please everybody all at one time. There is give and take with every one. Keep that in mind when the squeaky ones come to caterwauling about their favorite sound byte.

When Fred is ready, he will come out swinging.
