Obamanation: Can Muslims Belong To Trinity UCC?

IF I AM MUSLIM AND I BELIEVE IN PROPHET MOHAMMED, PEACE BE UPON HIM AND I ALSO BELIEVE IN JESUS, BE UPON HIM, DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP MY ISLAMIC FAITH TO BE A MEMBER IN YOUR CHURCH?” SHE ANSWERED, “NO.”  “WE HAVE MANY MUSLIM MEMBERS IN OUR CHURCH.”

I took a good hard look   at Trinity UCC’s web site but failed to find information about joining or their requirements for membership. A subsequent web search turned up a FAQ on the subject.

All ways of joining the church include standing before the congregation and stating or re-stating baptismal vows (see below under baptism)  

Baptismal vows, following three Sunday School classes:

1. Do you promise by the grace of God, to be Christ’s disciple, to follow in the way of our Savior, to resist oppression and evil, to show love and justice, and to witness to the work and word of Jesus Christ as best you are able?
2. Do your promise according to the grace given you, to grow with this child in the Christian faith, to help this child to be a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ, by celebrating Christ’s presence, by furthering Christ’s mission in all the world, and by offering the nurture of the Christian church so that s/he may affirm her/his baptism?
3. Do you believe in God? Do you believe in Jesus Christ? Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?

Who may take communion?

We view communion as Christ’s table, not ours. All are welcome.

How a professing Christian can be “respectful” of a murder cult that declares war upon Christians and oppresses them severely when it obtains power over them is unfathomable. I need to hear a convincing denunciation of the damnable doctrines of Islam. Unfortunately, no Liberal Democrat will ever be able to convince me of anything.
