Freedom Ain’t Free & Take Our Country Back

VICTORY Is Not Defeat

Message From Michael Yon!

Please click to read an important “Update on Bless the Beasts and Children.”

“Bless the Beasts and Children” is one of the most frequently downloaded–and commented on–dispatches for any 24-hour period since “Gates of Fire.” Growing numbers of readers are becoming furious that mainstream media continues to mostly ignore a well-documented mass-murder, while some outlets persist in widely publishing stories known to have been fabricated. The update considers this controversy as it provides new and emerging details about the incident.

New readers have been trying to dive into the difficult-to-navigate archives for some of the more popular previous dispatches. Over the coming months as the site is reworked this will improve. Meanwhile, a few links to vintage dispatches:

Baqubah, Iraq

Since the publication of “Bless the Beasts and Children” many questions have arisen: some of which I can and will answer here, and some whose answers lie elsewhere.

Today, late afternoon on 3 July in Baqubah, Colonel Hiduit from 2nd Brigade 5th Iraqi Army was able to provide some additional details about the murders, as the ongoing investigation begins to yield more facts. The name of the village was not on any maps I examined while preparing the dispatch, but Colonel Hiduit said the name is al Hamira. Coordinates to the area of the gravesites are MC 679 381.

In my dispatch, I reported that six people were killed, but mentioned that Iraqi soldiers were still digging out bodies when I left. A few hours ago, Colonel Hiduit put the number at 10-14, and said the search for bodies had ended. I made video of the graves, bodies and of interviews with Iraqi and American soldiers while we still were at the scene and have been working to make material from this available on this website.

As the investigation unfolds more pertinent details, I’ll continue to update the story. But the biggest question rippling across the internet–“Why hasn’t the mainstream media picked this up?” –is something only representatives of mainstream media can answer.

In fairness, several large outlets did publish it online:  National Review Online and Fox News were both quick to place the story prominently on their websites. A few others also published excerpts. It was even briefly up on the Drudge Report. On the blog front, Instapundit, Hugh Hewitt, Blackfive, Andrew Sullivan, Captain’s Quarters and many others picked it up.

But for those publications who actually had people embedded in Baqubah when the story first broke and still failed to cover it, their malaise is inexplicable. I do not know why all failed to report the murders and booby-trapped village: apparently no reporters bothered to go out there, even though it’s only about 3.5 miles from this base. Any one of the reporters currently in Baqubah could still go to these coordinates and follow his or her nose and find the gravesites.

On this question of media selectivity, the blogosphere has become incensed that big media mostly ignored the murders, especially given that there are reporters currently in Baqubah. Newsbusters and countless others are on it. More disturbing to many bloggers is that major mainstream players were busted (again) by Pajamas Media just days ago for reporting outright fabrications of a “massacre” that never occurred.

Although I can’t answer to the cause of the problem, I humbly offer permission to media outlets to republish excerpts of the dispatch or the dispatch in its entirety, including my photographs from the story (if used as they are in the dispatch) at no cost during the month of July 2007.  I only ask that the site receive proper attribution and that any publication taking me up on the offer email the website with the details.

If much of mainstream media does not recognize barbarity, clearly their readers can and do. Readers throughout the world might consider contacting their local papers and favorite websites with the link to this update. The story is very important in that it is well-documented with photos and video, and the Iraqi and American soldiers who were present are named and easily reachable. Those mainstream reporters currently in Baqubah could readily take up the baton.

Michael Yon does not receive funding or financial support from Fox News, movie, book or television deals at this time. He is entirely reader supported. He relies on his readers to help him replace his equipment and cover his expenses so that he may remain in Iraq and bring you the stories of our soldiers. If you value his work, please consider supporting his mission.

The Media IS the Message…A Lying, Stinking, Deceitful One

GREAT read here!!

I have a mathematically proven theory to make the poor rich, cut the annual national budget of America from $2.8 Trillion to $1.4 Trillion, generate the biggest tax cut in history, painlessly pay off all unfunded entitlement liabilities run up by irresponsible legislatures, financially emancipate women, deliver to Blacks a better financial package than they would ever get from reparations, eliminate corporate responsibility and the cost of retirement pensions and old-age medical care, reduce financially-motivated crime, reduced the costs of prisons and about three thousand other benefits and what do I get from my friends and those who agree with me – blank stares and derision.

‘UNETHICAL’ WRITER TOLD: MOVE ON

RIGHT ON!!

Randy Cohen

Randy Cohen

A newspaper in Washington state announced yesterday it was dumping the “The Ethicist” column of New York Times writer Randy Cohen after he was fingered for forking over campaign cash to the liberal MoveOn.org.

The Spokane Spokesman-Review had planned to start running Cohen’s nationally syndicated column today but instead spiked his prose from its pages after learning of the payout.

“It would by hypocritical of us to run an ethics column by a journalist in violation of our own ethics policy,” editor Steven Smith wrote online.

“Had he been a Spokesman-Review staff member, he would have faced suspension, at least . . . So we’re dropping the column. We’ll look elsewhere for a publishable ethicist.”

Dozens of readers responded to Smith’s Web notification, the vast majority commending the paper’s decision.

Cohen was named this week in an MSNBC report detailing the political donations of 144 reporters, editors, TV producers and other workers at media organizations, nearly 90 percent of whom were found to have given money to Democrats and other left-leaning political outfits.

Cohen gave $585 in 2004 to MoveOn.org as it worked to replace President Bush with Democrat John Kerry.

Cohen, ignoring MoveOn.org’s transparent political purpose, initially claimed his contribution was on a par with a reporter donating to the Boy Scouts or the Catholic church.

But later, in an e-mail to MSNBC, he wrote: “That said, Times policy does forbid my making such donations, and I will not do so in the future.”

Cohen was one of three Times staffers identified in the report. Two people from The Daily News also donated to Democrats. No Post journalists were named.

Say It Ain’t So! Bias In the Lame Stream Media?

How can this be? In the List of 45, as exposed in the book, The Naked Communist, as presented to CONgress on Thursday, January 10, 1963, one of the ULTIMATE goals of the Leftinistra was to infiltrate and take over and subvert the US Press Services. SHAZAM! Now, we “see” that it worked! Imagine that!!

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

Wake Up America has a fantastic write-up about it.

Journalistic Bias: The proof is in the numbers

Many have often scoffed when we mention media bias or media lies but MSNBC has a list of journalist and the political party they contributed to. (The media bias and media lies links bring you to pages that shows all our posts on those subjects, all on one page)

The ones with a D next to them contributed to Democrats and the ones with a R next to them contributed to Republicans.

This doesn’t surprise me, but I am sure it will surprise the doubters.

Lame Stream Media and Arrowhead Ripper

Big Bad (chuckle-chuckle snort-snort) Joe Klein: Michael Yon he ain’t…

I helicoptered today into Baquba, the centerpiece of the current U.S. offensive in Iraq, with Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno -and then drove via Stryker brigade into the center of the fight for a briefing. It was midday, and the sun was so hot that both sides in the battle seemed to be taking a siesta. Only a few small explosions could be heard in the distance; there was no small arms fire. Odierno-a supertanker of a man with a shaved head who looks like ancient turtle-met with a group of battalion commanders in the ruins of a medical center that had been blasted, by someone, several years earlier. Situation maps were leaned against a white ceramic tile wall; the officers sat in campaign chairs, hunched in a tight semi-circle; bottles of cold water were passed around.

Read the article and then read Yon’s.  Which one has “the pulse”?

CBS Still Lost In Space

One of these days, the Communist Broadcasting Services will shut their doors and the Nation will applaud.  The outlet remains lost in space.

Behold:

With the collapse of Fatah forces in Gaza, however, that horizon seems more distant than ever. Hamastan appears to describe the reality there now, making questions about permanent status or concessions to refugees largely irrelevant for the time being. We should not yet give up on the idea of brokering a comprehensive ceasefire between the Israelis and Palestinians, but the focus now must shift to the competition between Fatah and Hamas.

This outfit STILL espouses “talking with” and negotiating with” an organization; an ideal; a culture that considers such acts a sign of weakness.  Islam is diametrically opposed to Judaism.  There can be no peace between the two.

The rest of the article should be used as toilet paper.

Some Things…

I don’t get it. As we all know and have witnessed for ourselves, the Lame Stream Media in recent times has transmitted secret military data which has enabled and emboldened our enemies around the globe. They have not been prosecuted. Why not?

Yet, these folks are being prosecuted.

A group plotting to overthrow the communist government of Laos had a detailed 90-day plan to oust and possibly assassinate top leaders, according to a new court document.

And why are they being prosecuted?

The 11 men indicted are charged with conspiracy to violate the Neutrality Act, which bars Americans from taking military action against nations with which the United States is at peace. They were also accused of conspiracy to kill, kidnap and maim. All face life in prison if convicted.

Why isn’t the NY Slimes and the rest not being prosecuted in a CURRENT war-time environment?

When Morons At The NY Slimes Talk Out Of Their Ass

This is trash the NY Slimes day today. It is my Father’s Day gift to me. My Screamin’ Eagle called and wished me a fine day. The other boys did their deal. My wife and youngest made me my favorite Pecan Pound Cake. Now, after the festivities are mostly over, I am trashing the NY Slimes. You know. That fine establishment that thinks divulging military secrets is good for America. That same organization that likes to embolden our enemies has one of their mentally challenged morons write an editorial piece about how we conservatives are racists about not wanting ILLEGAL immigrants getting blanket amnesty via a bill that means nothing and the “laws” therein are unenforceable.

This same organization supports Harry-Kiri-Reid. After all the Democratic and NY Slimes plan for victory in Iraq is all so complex. The equally complex as well as retarded “immigration bill” is second to none in regards to nonsense and self-defeating rhetoric. That seems to be appropriate for the NY Slimes and their string pullers of the DNC. Not listening to the majority of Americans has turned out to be a problem for some members of CONgress and the NY Slimes has followed suit in whining about those right-wing whackos.

From the ass-idiot Lawrence Downes:

People who want to reform immigration by putting America in lockdown have not been shy about using fear and revulsion to get their point across. Illegal immigrants, they say, are invading the country to reconquer it, to erode our Anglo-Saxon culture and to make us all sick.

In this article, IT rambles on about leprosy and the woes of the ILLEGAL aliens. 99% of the article relates to leprosy and completely glosses over the Invasionistas and our concerns about our American culture. Downes is an ass-idiot.

Here’s Representative Tom Tancredo, complaining in the Republican presidential debate about pressing 1 for English.

Moron. Here’s Lawrence Downes being the typical NY Slimes sock puppet.

Perhaps ass-idiot Downes can learn something from JB Williams, and Lew Waters. We can only conclude that the corrupted “immigration poll” of the NY Slimes is gospel to a Leftinistra moron like Downes.

And the we have this piece from the NY Slimes written by some whiny-ass sad sack, bleeding heart liberal moron dweeb feeling sorry for immigrant fathers separated from their families because they BROKE THE DAMN LAW. I am way passed sick and tired of this crap!

John Wayne says it best.

On Immigration....
The Duke Says it Best!

More Brain Dead NY Slimes Jibber-Jabber

Check this out and notice they “forgot” about this. (You will need to log in to the NYSlimes.)

The template for the Bush administration’s mania for secrecy was signed by the president six years ago – Executive Order 13233, reversing the presumption of right of public access to presidential papers. This basic right of taxpayers and historians alike was embedded in the 1978 laws enacted after the Nixon administration. The reforms established a reasonable 12-year waiting period for access. But Mr. Bush’s reversal lets presidents or vice presidents (guess who?) keep their records sealed in perpetuity unless they or their heirs approve access.

I guess a war-time environment has escaped the normalcy of the Leftinistra. These IDIOT reporters crack me up.

But it was OK for the Clintonistas to Executive Order American Socialism in with the hopes that one day Czarina will regain the helm under an elected reign and fully enact them.

Check out Executive Orders 12938 and 12919. These EOs were not made during a time of war. One should wonder just why they were made by the Chief Clintonista with the Vice-Clintonista’s blessings.

The Push Is On

Don’t you just love the New York Slimes? Talk about clueless. (If you don’t have a log-in account, the link won’t do you any good.)

Note the condescending terms and phrases such as “had yet again”, “so-called” and “reflected acknowledgment”. Too bad there are people that read this crap as if it was Gospel. I won’t bore you with the details of the entire anal excrement of this article. If you go there, bring some towelettes to clean up with afterwards.

With the influx of tens of thousands of additional combat troops into Iraq now complete, American forces have begun a wide offensive against Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia on the outskirts of Baghdad, the top American commander in Iraq said Saturday.

The commander, Gen. David H. Petraeus, in a news conference in Baghdad along with Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, said the operation was intended to take the fight to Al Qaeda’s hide-outs in order to cut down the group’s devastating campaign of car bombings.

The comments by General Petraeus were a signal that the United States military had yet again entered a new phase in Iraq, four months after the start of the so-called troop surge and a security plan focused on dampening sectarian violence within Baghdad. They reflected an acknowledgment that more has to be done beyond the city’s bounds to halt a relentless wave of insurgent attacks that have undercut attempts at political reconciliation.
